Why I Challenge Conventional Nutrition & Medicine

For years, I trusted the system-the labs, the prescriptions, the endless appointments. But midlife changed everything. What I experienced wasn't just hormonal shifts; it was a wake-up call that conventional medicine and nutrition were never designed to truly heal women. This is the story that began my journey back to root-cause healing- and why I challenge everything we've been told about "normal".
The Moment I Shifted
When menopause hit, I thought I was prepared, and for the most part I was. My main complaints were hot flashes and weight gain. I took what ever happened with a grain of salt, after all I'm lucky to be able to have health insurance and can afford doctor's visits, not everyone is afforded that here in the United States. I was not prepared for the weight gain out of nowhere when I didn't change my eating habits, I wasn't prepared for high cholesterol out of nowhere. Nothing changed but everything changed. I eat very clean, very balanced diet, for the most part no chemicals, mostly organic. I was exhausted for no reason, gained almost 75lbs for no reason, and well the hot flashes, I knew where that came from and I started on hormone replacement therapy, I started with bio-identical compounded cream, and this helped with the hot flashes. I swore my thyroid was dead, for years, I went back and forth to different doctors, and everyone would just say it's all normal. I was fine and remarkably healthy, until I just had enough.
The System's Blind Spots
TSH-only testing," the gold standard (according to insurance companies) that misses everything". Insurance limitations, and dismissive doctors. I've had doctors look me like I was crazy, and after these visits, get in to my car and cry, "bloodwork is normal, so I don't know what to tell you, maybe just work out more and harder", not what you should be told when you are suffering and know your body. I was so in tune with my body from a very young age. The emotional toll was the worse though, everything that i put my body through just to be a normal healthy weight. It seems as though "they" didn't want me healthy, almost like "they" could make more money off of us, if we as a whole are not healthy. What was so wrong with everyone not being obese? What is wrong with all these chemicals in every aspect of our lives? Why aren't more people questioning it all?
Why I Challenge it?
I challenge it because the system failed me, and it fails millions of women.
Because real healing doesn't come from protocols, it comes from listening, it comes from talking. It comes from questioning and demanding better options.
Because nutrition isn't one-size-fits all, and menopause isn't a diagnosis.
