Health Coaching Explained: How I Support Women Beyond the Doctor's Office.

“Because 15 minutes with a doctor isn't always enough-midlife women deserve more guidance and support"

In today’s world, navigating health feels harder than ever. Doctors often have only 15–20 minutes per patient, quick fixes are pushed more than lasting solutions, and many women walk away from appointments feeling dismissed or even gaslit. This is exactly where a health coach can step in — not as a replacement for your doctor, but as an ally, guide, and source of accountability.

What Health Coaches Do

  • Help clients build sustainable habits around nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and lifestyle.

  • Provide education based on up-to-date research and years of personal study in health and wellness.

  • Offer accountability and encouragement — something that’s often missing in the traditional healthcare system.

  • Empower clients to make informed choices and feel confident in their own bodies.

What Health Coaches Don’t Do

  • Diagnose, prescribe, or treat medical conditions.

  • Replace your doctor or other licensed providers.

  • Promise quick fixes — real change takes time and consistency.

Certification vs Board Certification

  • Certified health coach: This means the coach has completed formal training and earned credentials.

  • Board certified health coach (NBC-HWC): This is a higher level of recognition through a national exam. It’s not required to be a great coach, but it does show an additional layer of professional commitment. (I am certified, not board certified yet, but plan to pursue it in the future.)

My Philosophy I’m not a doctor, nor do I claim to be. But I have studied and read extensively about health and wellness for years. More importantly, I listen, I support, and I walk beside women in midlife who are trying to figure it all out. If you’re navigating menopause, struggling with nutrition, or simply feeling like your body has “slowed down,” know that you don’t have to do it alone.

✨Final Thoughts: Health coaching is about empowerment, not perfection. If you’re curious about how coaching can support your midlife journey, I invite you to explore The Nourish Method Wellness and connect with me for a free discovery call. 💜
